by Loren Muirhead and Sunny Schneberger
Loren and I initially ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund this project. We were heading to Argentina with Basic Initiative to work in Los Piletones. However, we also wanted to do some extra study to delve deeper into what architecture meant to us. We had both been highly affected by initial theory classes in our first year of our Masters’ degree, and wanted to go further.
This book is set in two parts. The first part follows the develop of Western Architectural theory through the lens of Vitruvius and Palladio, Sullivan, Le Corbusier, Gropius, Kahn, Venturi, Koolhaus, Zumthor, Holl, and Ingles. The second part is where Loren and I set forth our own point of view as designers.
I’m proud to say that I designed the 118-page book, and that all photos were taken by Loren, myself, and my friend Alice who traveled with me at the beginning.
