Travel Sketchbook for Basia

Like the travel sketchbook we made for Cailen, this sketchbook was a farewell gift for Basia as she left her internship at Olson Kundig Architects.

Basia is Polish and heading back to Europe, so we wanted to commemorate her time in Seattle with a topographic map on the teak cover. The water surrounding Seattle is brass. The scale of the map is set at a cheeky 1:68571.

The inside back cover features all the names of the other Olson Kundig interns Basia worked with throughout her 6 months, and also shows the Polish dragon.

I trimmed, sewed, and designed the interior, and helped with the conceptual design. The other interns designed and laser-cut and -etched the teak covers.
